Family Thanksgiving Celebration

Our classroom will be having a family Thanksgiving celebration on Tuesday, November 22nd.  I have recieved a few RSVP's for lunch.  If you would like to join us please remember to RSVP to me by Monday, November 14th.  This will allow me time to contact everyone who has offered to assist with food.  I am requesting $1.00 from each individual who will be joining us for lunch.  Thank you in advance.

MUSD Community Walk - BIGGEST WINNER

Please join us Saturday, October 22nd at 8 am for an MUSD Community walk, in the PB parking lot. We will be hanging door hangers with factual information. Each elementary site in the district will be walking within their school boundaries. The school with the largest group of volunteers will be the "BIGGEST WINNER!" That school will win a BBQ hosted by the MUSD District Office Staff. Please join us to make Pima Butte the BIGGEST WINNER! A sign up sheet for volunteers will be available in the office on Monday, October 17th.

Reminder Regarding State Reports!

State Reports Due Monday 09/26

State reports will be due Monday! Please rememeber that the total grade for the project is 50 points.  The poster must be decorated, there must be a minimum of seven facts on the poster, and parents signature must be included.

We will be displaying all state projects in the second grade hallway for viewing! Please take time to stop by and view them.  Once I have them all ready to go I will be taking pictures to post here on our blog to share our students hard work!

September 5th - No School in observance of Labor Day

September 13th - Curriculum Night-2nd grade presentation 6:30 - 6:45 pm

September 14th - PTO Fundraiser over *All money and coupon books DUE

September 15th - School Picture Day! Info will be sent home soon, please watch for it!

September 21st - SPIRIT DAY~Crazy Hats and/or Socks

September 28th - PTO Family Book Swap~ Pima Butte Cafe

Homework

Home will begin on Monday, August 15, 2011.  We will be starting our phonics journals and daily math homework.  Each evening students will have their daily phonics assignment, math homework and required reading.  Please contact me if you have questions.

Ordering School Shirts

I will post more information about class shirts when I have that available.

Getting ready for the 2011-2012 School Year

It's hard to believe that summer is coming to an end! I'm getting ready for another new school year in just a few short weeks.  I am currently doing some "construction" to my class blog! Please excuse the mess while everything is updated.  I have revised the school supply list.  Mrs. Mott and I will be using the same list this year.  If you have a second grader at Pima Butte, please fill free to use this list.  You can also pick one up at the front office.

Here are a few important dates to get started:

August 1st - Class lists will be posted in the office window

August 4th - Meet the Teacher night 5pm - 7pm

August 8th - First day of school 

Our team shirts for second grade this year are going to be blue.  They will be available with our team name and school year.  I will gather more information regarding shirt orders and post that information when it is available. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday, August 4th!
